What We Learned This Week

Language Arts: As we wrap up Women's History Month, be sure to ask your child about some of the amazing women they have read about! When we return, we will focus on a book study. Daily work will include identifying text structures within passages.

Writing: We will begin our opinion writing after break!

Math: The focus for our next unit on geometry includes:

*understanding that shapes in different categories may share attributes and that the shared attributes can define a larger category

*partitioning shapes into parts with equal areas. Express the area of each part as the unit fraction of the whole

Science: Our focus will be on the weather in our new unit, Stormy Skies!

  • Continue practicing multiplication facts.. The ability to recall facts is reported on report cards. We still have one trimester to memorize facts so keep working!
  • There are no drinking fountains at school. Bring a refillable water bottle to school each day.
  • Earbuds/Earphones are an essential part of learning. Many students do not have working earbuds at school. We have some available for student use but students often do not like how they feel.
