Fall Conferences

This Week We Learned...
For Language Arts, we are focusing on the book Cats vs. Dogs. This is a nonfiction book that we have paired with the fictional book, Dog vs. Cat, from the previous week. Students had to choose which one would be the winner in their opinion, cats or dogs. They have worked hard on writing this both with a rough draft and final copy! Their hard work is being displayed in the hallway before being sent home.
In Math, students learned how to add using two different ways. Students practiced using partial sums to add as well as traditional addition. We also learned a few different math games to play during our math workshop time!
We learned about trait variation, inheritance, and artificial selection with apples in Science. Students were able to experiment with different types of apples and explore the differences between them.
The focus of Social Studies this week has been learning about our great state of Michigan. Please make sure to practice the map at home as we will be testing next week on Tuesday.
