What We Learned This Week

Language Arts: We are wrapping up Tornado (ask to see their packet-they've worked hard!) and will begin articles that incorporate various text structures.

Writing: We will be taking a break from writing to focus on our article responses for ELA.

Math: We just finished our unit on Geometry and will be revisiting our operations and algebraic thinking standards. In this unit, we will be solving 2-step number stories, finding factors, and breaking apart larger multiplication problems. It will be important for students to know their multiplication facts for this unit!

Science: We have officially completed our science units for the year. Science tests will be sent home sometime next week. Our focus in May will be on Social Studies.

Don't forget to read!
20 - 25 minutes a night minimum will set your student up for an amazing future.. Check out this graphic to recognize the importance of reading. A missed day of reading can never be made up.

Don't forget...

  • Continue practicing multiplication facts.. The ability to recall facts is reported on report cards. We still have one trimester to memorize facts so keep working!
  • There are no drinking fountains at school. Bring a refillable water bottle to school each day.
  • Earbuds/Earphones are an essential part of learning. Many students do not have working earbuds at school. We have some available for student use but students often do not like how they feel.
