What We Learned This Week
In Language Arts, we completed work around the book The Mitten. Students worked through the vocabulary in the story as well as determined the causes and effects that were present. Additionally, students wrote about the problem and solution of the story and the overall theme.
Math was focused on our new unit: measurement and data. Students will be receiving instruction in all three classrooms over the course of this unit. They will be learning about mass (weight, kilograms, grams), volume (liters, milliliters), and U.S. customary units. Students will be engaging in hands-on lessons to learn!
This week in Social Studies we began Chapter 3 and started learning about the first explorers to make their way to Michigan. Students will learn about specific explorers and how certain towns/cities were started in Michigan!
No Science this week.
